Enjoy the Great Outdoors With the Winter Climate and Wildlife Watch at The Fells

Looking for a way to get out of the apartment and enjoy some fresh air? The Winter Climate and Wildlife Watch at The Fells will do you one better. In addition to providing an active adventure in the great outdoors, the hike also offers an opportunity to protect your local flora and fauna.

On Wednesday, January 13th—one of three dates now through March—the next Winder Climate and Wildlife Watch will unfold at Long Pond. You’ll join the naturalists from Earthwise Aware, an organization dedicated to keeping tabs on wildlife in areas where it’s at risk. They’ll lead a slow and steady hike into the woods in order to observe the movement of birds, make note of changes in wildlife due to the seasons, and look for signs of pollution or habitat disturbances. You’ll be their trusted assistance throughout the process. While this event is free, an RSVP is required in order to maintain a small group. Participants will be expected to wear masks and practice social-distancing throughout the hike, which will last from approximately 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
